David Pickler Earns Advanced Wealth Management Certification from Yale

David A. Pickler, Esq., CFP®, CPWA®, CDFA®, President at Pickler Wealth Advisors in Collierville, Tennessee, recently earned the Certified Private Wealth Advisor® certification, which is an advanced professional certification for advisors who provide the breadth of specialized skills required to meet the needs of high-net-worth clients. Mr. Pickler specializes in Life Planning, Portfolio Management, Strategic Asset Allocation, Income Strategies, Estate Management, Tax Planning, Insurance Needs Analysis, Family Wealth & Estate Planning, and Retirement Planning.

“It is of utmost importance to me to take my firm to the next level by addressing the needs of clients from all backgrounds and financial situations,” said Pickler. “It was an honor to obtain the CPWA® coursework and high-caliber education from the prestigious Yale School of Management. Completing this challenging course allows me to better address the financial needs of high-net-worth clients including minimizing tax burdens, growing and protecting assets, and developing plans for succession.”

To earn certification, CPWA® professionals must meet a five-year experience requirement, successfully complete coursework in advanced wealth management strategies, and pass a comprehensive examination covering 11 core topics, including applied behavioral finance, charitable giving, estate planning, and wealth transfer. To maintain certification, CPWA® professionals must meet ongoing continuing education requirements and adhere to the Institute’s Code of Professional Responsibility.

Unlike credentials that focus specifically on investing or financial planning, the CPWA® program takes a holistic and multidisciplinary approach. CPWAs learn the financial obstacles that wealthy individuals face and understand how to address these challenges by developing certain strategies.

In a recent study*, 80% of high-net-worth clients stated that what matters most to them in an advisor is high ethical standards and that their advisor is trustworthy. The CPWA® certification requires advisors to develop advanced knowledge and skills to address the wide range of complex issues faced by wealthy individuals and families including portfolio strategies, wealth transfer, family dynamics, risk management, and charitable giving.
